Wind gust flips trailer on Highway 62 near Lawton, Oklahoma

Posted on Jun 25, 2014

Police say wind caused an accident involving a truck and trailer in Lawton, Oklahoma west of 82nd street on Highway 62. A pickup truck pulling a travel trailer rolled onto its side, apparently due to a high wind gust, police reported. The unidentified female driver was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, police said. Strong winds can make driving extremely difficult for people pulling trailers.

Drivers are cautioned to avoid sudden lane changes and reduce their speed to minimize the dangers associated with driving in high winds.
