OHP reports 9 Deaths on Holiday Weekend

State Troopers have reported nine deaths and 152 total wrecks on Oklahoma highways over the Memorial Day weekend. According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, nine people died in eight of the crashes, and three were not wearing seat belts or other restraints. In addition, the patrol reported 22 of the wrecks were alcohol-related. Troopers arrested 113 drivers for alleged drunk driving, and issued 575 tickets for speeding over the holiday weekend. In addition, there were 844 citations issued for seat belt violations and 21 for child restraint violations. OHP also reported 447 motorists assists.
